PA Olympics - October 14, 2023 at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus
PA Olympic T-Shirt Fundraising is now available! The T-Shirt Fundraising is going toward both The Ken Anderson Alliance and OAPA Legislative Fund. Each program and the PA-Cs have their assigned color for ordering. T-Shirts will be available on PA Olympic day at Registration. If any students are interested in buying a shirt but cannot make it to the PA Olympics, we will make sure members from the same cohort can bring back the extra shirts to their program. The colors are listed below along with the links for ordering. Three separate links were needed based on each donation page only having a certain number of colors available. Each program or PA-C is listed under each link that is associated.

Program Spotlight - Lake Erie College
The Lake Erie College PA Program first opened its doors in 1975 and educated PAs until 1987. The program reopened in 2014 and graduated its first cohort in 2016 with its current 27-month curriculum. There are currently over 200 Lake Erie College PA graduates that practice all throughout the country in a wide variety of specialties.
As the Class of 2024 prepares to embark upon clinical rotations, they will attend their White Coat Ceremony on September 1, 2023. The class of 25 students is enthusiastic about this milestone and will begin clinicals on September 4th, putting their knowledge into application. Francesca Fabe, PA-S2, states, “LEC has done an excellent job giving us early opportunities to develop, practice, and perfect a wide array of skills.” Brock Schafer, PA-S2, states, “The last 15 months have made me even more passionate about rotating in the ICU and I’m thrilled to see actual patients.” The 25 most recent graduates of Lake Erie College’s PA Program are eager to pass their boards and officially become practicing PA-Cs. Lake Erie College has had a 100% PANCE pass rate since 2016 with a 98.7% first time pass rate.
Furthermore, the PA students and staff at LEC are very excited to be organizing a health fair partnered with University Hospitals this upcoming October. The “Fall into Health” fair will offer free health care services featuring physical exams, dental care, preventative care, and cholesterol screening. This will give students the opportunity to put what they are learning in didactic year and clinical rotation into action. The PA students at LEC will be collaborating with local PA-Cs, dentists and other providers to give access to quality care for those in the community. Additionally, LEC PA students are also working to raise funds for a medical mission trip to Honduras later this year. These events will give students the opportunity to provide healthcare for remote communities in underdeveloped countries.

You do NOT have to be registered for the Annual Conference to attend the Membership Meeting.
The meeting will be held during lunch. If you are NOT attending the conference and would like to have lunch, there is a $35.00 charge to cover your meal, payable at the door. Please RSVP by September 18, 2023 to the OAPA office (800/292-4997 or oapa@ohiopa.com).
If you are registered for the conference, your lunch is included in the fee and you do not have to RSVP.
Seating will be available for those who want to attend the meeting but NOT have lunch. No RSVP is required.
