2023 OAPA Awards and Scholarships

One of the most rewarding activities for a membership community like OAPA is celebrating past and future member achievements by granting awards and scholarships. OAPA is pleased to share the news of the 2023 award and scholarship winners honored at the 2023 OAPA Annual Conference in Columbus. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these PA community leaders.

SCHOLARSHIPS

AWARDS

The John D. Trimbath Preceptor Award, now in its second year, is given to a person who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to precepting PA students in the State of Ohio. This year’s winner is Andrea Boyd, PA-C, of Southwest General Health Center.

The Charles L. Hudson, MD Award, is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Charles L. Hudson, an Ohio-based physician who is credited for presenting the original paper on the concepts for the utilization of non-physician practitioners in the delivery of primary care medicine to the American Medical Association in the early 1960’s.

The OAPA Board of Directors celebrates this year’s awardee for a quarter century of dedication, support, and leadership that has left a permanent mark on our organization. She has been a trusted source of information and assistance to our members and has made a significant impact in the area of government relations and advocacy for the PA profession.

As the OAPA moves through a pivotal staff leadership transition, the board extends deep gratitude for the awardee’s service to OAPA, making her supremely worthy of this honor. As such, the Charles L. Hudson Award is presented to none other than Beth Adamson, our long-serving Executive Director, whose tenure with OAPA has drawn to a close this month. Congratulations, Beth, and thank you for your work in service to OAPA!
