“Breathing New Life Into Asthma Care: Key Updates from the Latest 2025 GINA Guidelines"

Learning Objectives:
- Explain why GINA 2025 continues to recommend inhaled corticosteroids, even in mild asthma, and identify the rationale for eliminating SABA-only treatment.
- Describe the use of the Anti-Inflammation Reliever Only (AIR-Only) and Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) regimens and identify patients who would benefit from them.
- Discuss how asthma management is individualized based on symptom control, exacerbation risk, phenotype, comorbidities, and treatment response.
Speaker Biography:
Amity Arnold, PA-C, has been a practicing physician assistant in Ohio for 28 years and is currently a faculty member in the Ashland University PA program. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in a variety of clinical settings, including family medicine, nephrology, college health, and urgent care, where she continues to practice. She currently teaches Clinical Medicine and emphasizes the importance of PAs having a strong foundational knowledge across all areas of medicine to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
