JobDescription.......... Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center — James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute has a Physician Assistant opportunity located with the Plastics department within our prestigious cancer program. In 2014, we will open a new 20-floor, state-of-the-art cancer hospital that will have 276 dedicated inpatient cancer beds. With this new hospital, we plan to transform the cancer patient experience.
Physician Assistant (Job Opening 367389)
The position is expected to function on the mostly day shift in the Operating rooms in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (inpatient and outpatient), the surgical oncology patient care units, the outpatient clinics, and other patient care areas as needed. The position will likely have extended hours to meet patient needs. This position is responsible for surgical assisting during plastic microvascular reconstructive oncology operative procedures, performing histories and physicals, making post operative rounds, placement of catheters, post operative removal of catheters and tubes from patients, assisting in the management of patients in the outpatient clinics, assisting in the training of students and staff, and completing documentation of services, all under the supervision of a plastic surgery service/surgeon.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited masters physician assistant program. National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant (NCCPA) certification. Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a surgical physician assistant. Eligible or currently has authority to prescribe.
