LEGISLATIVE ALERT: Important Bill Regarding Admission and Discharge Papers Passes Senate

SB81 authorizing physician assistants to sign documents related to hospital patients has passed the Ohio Senate and now moves into the Ohio House. There was little debate and strong bipartisan support, with the bill passing the senate nearly unanimously! 

The bill expands the list of practitioners (to include PAs) permitted to sign documents related to patient admission, treatment, and discharge in certain situations, reducing the barriers for mental health care.

OAPA and our lobbyist will continue to work hard to advance this bill.
