Call for Speakers: 2026 OAPA Annual Conference
Advance your career and showcase your expertise by sharing your knowledge with peers!
The 2026 OAPA Annual Conference is scheduled for Thursday, August 27 through Saturday, August 29, at the Westin Cleveland Downtown. We are currently seeking speakers and welcome topics and ideas from all specialties.
What does it take to become an OAPA Annual Conference speaker?
- In-depth knowledge in one or more areas of PA practice
- Dedication to educating PAs to enhance our profession and patient care
- Agreement to the speaker terms, including but not limited to completing a CME disclosure form, providing slides in advance, and optional pre-recording sessions for on-demand access
- Confidence to present to an audience and engage in Q&A
Speakers will receive an honorarium in appreciation of their contribution. Those wishing to attend the conference beyond their session must register as paid attendees.
Key Topics for Session Proposals (suggested, not required)
- Cardiovascular: CPR updates, pacer/ICD refresher, valvular abnormalities: regurgitation, prolapse, stenosis
- Dermatology: Skin infestations (scabies/lice), environment induced skin conditions: cold injuries and heat-related skin problems
- Endocrine: Adrenal disease – Cushing syndrome, primary adrenal insufficiency
- HEENT: Dental urgencies/emergencies, foreign body pediatric injuries in the emergency room
- Gastrointestinal: Diverticulitis/diverticulosis, large bowel obstruction, small bowel obstruction, GI bleeds, pancreatic disease
- Genitourinary: Overactive bladder or STIs
- Hematology: Anemia
- Infectious Disease: Sepsis recognition and treatment, tuberculosis, travel medicine
- Musculoskeletal: Gout/pseudogout
- Neurology: Stroke and TIA, neurologic emergencies
- Psychiatry: Personality disorders (Cluster A, B, C), teen mental heath
- Pulmonary: Diagnosis and treatment of pleural effusions/pneumothoraces, review of hypersensitivity reactions
- Renal: Prerenal/renal/postrenal acute kidney injury review, pyelonephritis
- Reproductive: Oncology in reproductive medicine (cervical, ovarian, prostate, testicular)
- Emerging Topics: Legal/ethical topics, billing and coding, telehealth, remote monitoring wearables and health apps, PA leadership
- Surgery: Organ donation, standards of care in pediatric surgery
- Advancing scholarship and research
- Addressing the preceptor pipeline
- Accreditation and outcomes
- Financial planning and managing student debt
- Contract negotiations
